The Caerwent Roman archive at Newport Museum and Art Gallery is one of the best Roman collections in Wales.
It was excavated between 1899 and 1913 by the Caerwent Exploration Fund and donated to the Museum by Lord Tredegar in 1916. The stunning finds help tell the story of the Roman town of Venta Silurum (market place of the Silures).
Highlights include the Mars Lenus inscription, the Celtic Head deity and the Four Seasons mosaic.
